Fast Taste – Solo Exhibition of Catherine Grossrieder
Over The Influence is proud to present OTI’s Greater China Summer Program featuring, “Fast Taste”, a solo exhibition by Catherine Grossrieder from the 11 to 31 August, featuring a new series of works inspired by a culture of fast food and fried chicken.
In feature will be a series of works inspired by Catherine’s observations while living in East London. In her style of cartoon-like imagery where ‘mascot meets graffiti’ she depicts the mixing of various cultures. Elements of sexuality are widely present in her art to convey the momentary feeling of ecstasy and euphoria that depicts urban life and often associates with food culture. Observant of her surroundings, cultures and quirks, Grossrieder turns them into visual satires or dedications through visual narration and paintings.
